General questions

The app freezes or doesn't work properly
Do you have a good internet connection? If yes, it can help to completely close the app and log in again. Still not working? You might have an old version of the app. Delete the myHospi app and reinstall from the app store. Still not working? Send an email to [email protected].
I'm not receiving emails from myHospi
It can happen that myHospi emails are considered spam. Check if you can find the emails in your spam filter. Can't find the email? Enter your email address via Reset password. You'll then receive a new email. Haven't received anything after 10 minutes? Send an email to [email protected].
What do the checkmarks in the chat mean for my messages?
The checkmarks in the chat indicate whether your message has been sent and/or read. One checkmark means the message has been sent, two checkmarks mean the message has been read.
I would like to delete my account, how do I do that?
You can delete your account in the settings.

Questions about offering a room

How does myHospi work?
myHospi is a tool for student houses to replace your mailbox. Through myHospi you don't receive emails but complete profiles, giving you a good picture of room seekers right away. You can also easily filter by age, gender, association and phase. Then you can invite everyone with one click. To reach room seekers, it's helpful to share the link to your house (e.g. in a Facebook group). You can copy this link in the app under 'Share room' in settings or on the website after logging in.
I've already received emails about a room, how can I still use myHospi?
To still be able to use the overview that myHospi offers, you can reply to the emails that it would be a plus if they also send their profile via myHospi. It's also advisable to place your myHospi link in the Facebook post. This way you still have a handy and personal overview of the people coming to the hospiteer evening.
Is myHospi free?
Yes! We don't think students should have to pay for finding a new house/new housemate.
Can you also chat with room seekers?
Yes, after you've invited people you can send them a chat message. This can be to give them extra information that you didn't provide in the invitation.
Can you invite everyone at once and send people an automated message?
Yes! You can invite all liked people at once from the 'liked people' folder (see second icon from the left). When inviting, you can type a message after which they can immediately indicate if they'll be present. It's also nice to let the people you haven't invited know something, this can also be done at once with one message. You do this from the 'Rejected' folder.
Can room seekers indicate if they'll be present at the hospiteer evening?
That's certainly possible. You can find the overview in the 'Invited' folder. Haven't people responded yet? Send them a reminder via the notification button (bell in the 'Invited' folder).
I'm getting few responses to my available room
To reach room seekers, it's helpful to share the link to your house (e.g. in a Facebook group). You can copy this link in the app under 'Copy link' or on the website after logging in. This way room seekers can also find your house in the app.
How do I invite people via myHospi?
A like is not yet an invitation! After you've liked people, you can invite them from your 'folders' (second icon from the left in the navigation bar). These invitations can be sent after you've set up the hospiteer round and typed a message.

Our house often works with multiple rounds, can this also be done in the app?
Of course! You can invite multiple people for different hospiteer rounds. You create the hospiteer rounds at the 'liked' folder, after which you can invite people for that selected time. Then you'll see in the 'invited' folder who will be present at which time.
The hospiteer evening is done and we've chosen someone, what now?
After the hospiteer evening you hopefully found your new housemate. You can send this person a private message or call them on the provided number. You can send the people who didn't make it a message at once, but personal attention is appreciated.
I've already offered a room on myHospi before, how do I add a new room?
You can always place a new house, but you can also reset your old house. You do this by going to your house and clicking the three dots in the top right. Here you can reset your house. Your old responses and hospiteer rounds will be removed.
I forgot to say something in the invitation
No problem, via the chat function you can send people a chat message. This can also be to one category at a time. E.g. to all invited people.

I want to send a chat to a house, how can I do this?
From the moment you're invited to a hospiteer evening you can send a chat message to that house.
I'm not being invited to a hospiteer evening and I'm not hearing anything
The housing shortage in the Netherlands is very high, which is why student houses get a lot of responses to available rooms. That's why it can be a lot of work to respond to everyone, even though with myHospi it can be done at once. Experience shows that persistence pays off, so keep going!
How do I send my profile to a house?
Click on the house in the overview and press 'Send profile', it's recommended to adapt your message to the house you're responding to. This way you have a better chance that your message will be liked and you can come to the hospiteer evening.
Where can I find the invitations for my hospiteer evenings?
You'll find them in the chat.
